Summary

Cascara sagrada has traditionally been used in herbal medicine as a stimulant laxative to help relieve occasional constipation.

Cascara sagrada (Frangula purshiana) is a small deciduous tree native to the Pacific Northwest. Its aged bark has a long history of traditional use for supporting bowel regularity.

The bark contains naturally occurring anthraquinones, compounds believed to support intestinal motility and promote bowel movements by stimulating contractions within the colon.

New Roots Herbal’s Cascara Sagrada combines aged bark with a potency-validated 4:1 extract for convenient digestive support.

Ingredients

Each vegetable capsule contains:

Cascara sagrada (Frangula purshiana) aged bark 175 mg
Cascara sagrada (Frangula purshiana) aged bark 4:1 extract 150 mg

Non-Medicinal Ingredients: Vegetable magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide in a non-GMO vegetable capsule composed of vegetable carbohydrate gum and purified water.
