Should I choose Sea-licious liquid omega-3 or softgels?
Sea-licious liquid omega-3 may suit people who prefer a flavoured oil that can be taken by spoon or added to foods such as smoothies and yogurt. Ultra Omega-3 softgels provide a convenient, pre-measured alternative with no need for refrigeration. The EPA, DHA and added ingredient amounts differ between formulas, so compare the individual labels rather than choosing by format alone.
Where does Sea-licious fish oil come from, and is it independently tested?
Sea-licious fish oil is sourced from the body oils of small fish, including anchovies, sardines and mackerel, harvested off the coasts of Chile and Peru. Sea-licious is independently tested through the International Fish Oil Standards program and holds a 5-star IFOS rating for purity, potency and freshness.
What is ASTA-GUARD in Sea-licious omega-3?
ASTA-GUARD™ is Sea-licious’s name for the algae-derived antioxidant astaxanthin included in its omega oils. Astaxanthin gives the oil its distinctive reddish colour and helps protect it from oxidation caused by exposure to light, air and heat.
Does Sea-licious liquid omega-3 need to be refrigerated?
Yes. Sea-licious liquid omega-s products must be refrigerated after opening. According to the manufacturer, an opened bottle should be used within approximately 90 days. The softgels should be stored in a cool place and have a shelf life of two years from the production date. Always follow the storage directions and expiry date printed on the product.
